My adopted dog Penka is anxious: she needs time to warm up to new people and new places. I completely understand how important it is to respect the needs of such dogs. That’s why I take an individual approach to ensure both you and your dog feel relaxed and comfortable.

A shoot with your dog is always fun!

But what to do if your dog is cautious and anxious? As an pet photographer with practical experience working with such dogs, I’d like to share the key aspects that will help you organize a successful photoshoot for your anxious, shy or nervous pup.

Individual approach

From my experience, every dog is unique, and each requires care and respect. It's essential to understand that anxious dogs need more time to get used to new surroundings and unfamiliar people. I always choose an individual approach so that both you and your dog feel comfortable during the shoot.

Choosing the location

We can choose a place familiar to your dog. The right location can play a crucial role in a successful photoshoot. This could be:

  • Your cozy home: An environment where your dog feels safe will help them relаx;
  • A familiar park: If your dog enjoys walks in a specific place, it can serve as a great backdrop for your photos;
  • Your backyard: This can be an ideal option since the dog will be in a comfortable environment, and we can capture precious moments against the backdrop of your favorite space;
  • The beach: We can consider a photoshoot on the beach in a quiet area. Sandy shores and the sound of waves will create a relaxing atmosphere, and open spaces will allow your dog to move freely and explore.

Preparing

Taking into account your dog’s individual characteristics, I will keep an eye on her state and readiness. If your dog needs more time to adjust, we won’t rush. I am ready to spend as much time with her as necessary to avoid stress.

No additional costs

It is essential to emphasize that my primary goal is to create a positive atmosphere for you and your beloved dog. You can be sure that there will be no additional costs for more time or adaptation. I want the photo session to bring only joy, and the photos to remain warm memories for many years.

Conclusion

Shooting is not only work for me, but also an opportunity to show care, love and respect for each dog, regardless of its character.
